DSRL 360’s were back in action for Rd #2 of the season. Ernie Williams Jr wins Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 as Team Black Diamond sweeps the Podium. With 23 drivers signing into the server meant once again the guys are battling for 22 open spots for the 30-lap Feature.
With a random draw for your heat race starting position. We have to give a shout out to Josh Whiteman as we was topping the speed charts in practice. Last week’s winner, Mason Hannagan was 2nd quick with Craig Silby rounding out the top 3.

Heat #2
Miles Jansen was on the move in heat 2! Picking up the win, starting from 5th. Anthony Morano lead the first few laps before Jansen took over the lead. Morano would finish in 2nd. Chad Criggs picked up one spot and finished the heat in 3rd.

30-Lap feature
Ernie Williams Jr would lead the field to green and do battle for 30-laps. Williams gets credited for leading 25 laps. Early action, Johnahon White and Tayler Wineland were battling just outside the top 10 when they came together. Jesse Bandy get caught up in this on Lap 3. Williams Jr would restart the race and keep working the top side of the track as Hannagan would work the middle. Jansen working the lower half of the track running in 3rd. Hannagan was all over Williams and started throwing some sliders when the 2nd caution of the night came out.
Craig Silby went for the slider coming out of turn 4 and there wasn’t quite enough room. He makes contact with Chris Savescay, the result is Silby spinning and bringing out the yellow. Williams once again would restart the field on lap-12. For the next handful of laps Williams and Hannagan would battle it out for the top spot.
We can say the “Big One” happened on lap-17! Anthony Morano and Trevor Royer were battling for 8th place. Morano make a move to the bottom side of the track, unaware that Chad Griggs had a run coming off the bottom. Contact between Morano and Griggs spins them out, Larry Moody had nowhere to go, makes contact with Griggs car. Theodore York has to check up, gets a love tap from Tayler Wineland. Garrett Boyd just trying to sneak his way through, gets collected by a car coming down the track. Wow, I think I got all of that!!
With a few cars taking to the pits for repairs. Williams would restart again with the lead on lap 18. He would continue to work the high side of the track with Hannagan in toe. These two would put on a show, slider after slider!!
Billy Barros, York and Scott Thomason were battling just inside the top 10 when Barros made contact with back of York. Tayler Wineland had no where to go and these 3 cars come to stop in turn 2 on lap 29. This would give us a Green/White/Checkered finish with Williams, Hannagan and Royer your top 3. On the restart Williams went high entering turn 1 with Hannagan throwing a slider. Hannagan hit the wall in turn 2 allowing Williams to cut under and regain the lead. Hannagan tried one more time on the last lap coming out of 4 but fell short. Williams would hang onto for the win with Hannagan in 2nd and Trevor Royer finishing 3rd. Royer moved up 10 spots after starting 13th.
Your Top 5 after the 30-lap feature:

2) Mason Hannagan
3) Trevor Royer
4) Chris Sabescay
5) Ross Korynta
