The Dirt Slingers Racing League kicked off a new season of Big Block action on Monday night from Oswego Speedway. Clay Christopherson would pick up your Quicktime Award with a 19.14 second lap. Just edging out Dylan DeWert Jr by .031 of a second. The Top 5 in qualifying were separated by less than .050 of second!!
Garrett Boyd would start on the Pole of Heat race #1 and lead all 8 laps to pick up the win. Clay Christopherson after picking up Quicktime would work his way into 2nd place after starting the heat in 4th. Braden Eyler brings it home the 3rd place after starting outside pole in Heat #1.
Dillion Kinsey, started off by qualifying in the 8th position and after the invert that put him on Pole for Heat #2. He would take advantage of that and just like Boyd in Heat #1, would lead all 8 laps of the heat to pick up the win.
Boyd would lead the field to green to start the 40 lap feature from Oswego Speedway. He would lead the first 14 laps of the feature before getting passed by Anthony Marano. Marano took the green in the 6th place and once he got into the lead he would lead the remaining 26 laps and pick up the opening night win! Boyd would go onto finish in the runner up position. Dylan Dewert Jr and Tyler Schell had nice battle for the final podium spot. A late mistake by Schell with handful of laps left, DeWert was able to make the move and get pick up 3rd place at the end of the 40 lap feature.
Some other notable drivers that were on the move! Kevin Hanley and Larry Moody along with Marano all advanced 5 positions.
Next weeks action is from Fairbury Speedway on Monday Oct. 28th.
